Cutting Carbon and Home Energy Bills

CUTTING CARBON = EXPENSIVE KIT? INCREASING BILLS? WHO TO TRUST?

Scared to death or frozen to death? The new prices being quoted for gas and electricity have gripped the headlines and got us all clutching our wallets and digging out the sweaters. At the same time as we are quoted gigantic increases in our bills, we are being told to cut carbon emissions in our homes, to improve our insulation, maybe to install heat pumps….but how do we know what’s most important? How much would it all cost? How could we possibly afford it? NCF has taken its commitment to the consumer interest and produced our own step by step guide from that perspective to prioritising what we have to do and can do to cut home carbon emissions, bills and by the way save the planet.

Starting with relatively simple and inexpensive actions, such as turning down lights and heating, and using your equipment more efficiently, it looks at draught reduction and the all- important issue of insulation – lofts, walls and floors. There is a realistic discussion of the different kinds of heat pump, plus the advantages of solar panels. There are suggestions about raising finance, and – very important – what to do should things go wrong with your supplier.

Here is the link to the Guide as A4 print here and as A5 booklet form here ( print double sided and short edge binding ).
